Previously, if a generated assessment needed changes, educators had two choices: keep it and manually edit the assessment, or discard it and generate a new one. The challenge with regenerating was that the entire assessment could change, even when only one small part needed improvement. The tool allows educators to pinpoint exactly what they want to change or refine. For example, they can: - Shorten or expand assessor instructions for a criterion - Combine two criteria or split one into two - Adjust the number of criteria under an outcome - Rewrite grade descriptors - Make multiple refinements in sequence Each refinement focuses on the requested change while keeping the rest of the assessment intact. If an instruction cannot be fully applied, the AI explains what it was able to change and what it could not. On the **Assessment Review** screen, select **Refine** and enter the instruction for the change you want to make. ## Why This Matters? With refinement, educators can work through those adjustments without losing the parts of the assessment they are already happy with.This creates a more controlled AI-assisted workflow: **generate, review, refine and keep**.
